Hey guys, I need some help with a few external back up choices for the wife and I. As you get older you find it harder to lose things, and would rather just not!

I want an external back up that will more or less copy the image from my PC and the wifes laptop.
Here's the catch, do they have anything that will work wirelessly over our home network?
I have never used a back up device so throw me some info will ya?

I know Im a bit late to the game , but I did just discover the wheel last year!

One thing you can do is convert an old PC to a Windows Home Server. The OS only cost $100 and it can act as a file server, image backup server, and media server. Just buy some new larger hard drives to install to and you are off! I really recommend it.

The one device that comes to mind when you say wireless backup over the network would be the Apple timecapsule. Their networking seems to be the most stable and reliable and we prefer it over linksys, netgear, dlink etc. All it is is a wirelss router with a HDD built in. And it comes with software. Plus they are making it really easy to use on PC not just macs. So just keep the timecapsule in mind.

I picked up a WD world book, but took it back and opted for a basic USB external.
I like the idea of a home server, and may try that route, if I can edjucate myself enough.
